Starting the research...

The first part of the background research for creating a music video, was deciding what genre we wanted to do. We then had to create a mindmap of the chosen genre with the main characteristics of it, because these will need to be taken into account when creating our product as it will have to fit certain conventions.

I decided to choose the pop/punk genre because it is probably my favourite types of music - I think this is because it's mostly fun and upbeat but there is a side to it that is very meaningful and because a lot of the musicians in this genre are quite young, the songs are very relatable.
