Filming Diaries - The final shot

We had to leave during the last visit to Apley Wood because we ran out of filming time and had to head back to college to be there in time for lesson. We got all of our footage put onto the computer and agreed to back to get any other shots we didn't have time to shoot.

On watching the footage, we only needed one shot of Steph (the one dressed in black- the dark side to her) sitting on the pier - linking to the start when the good side of Steph is sat at the lake writing the letter - it's almost circling back linking the end to the start.
I remember that this wasn't the most fun part of filming because:
a) we had to walk for about a mile and a half from where we got dropped off, through the woods and to the lake, so we were walking for a while with all our equipment and obviously it was the same distance on the way back.
b) We had to get this shot right in the middle of winter, so it was ridiculously cold. There was actually ice on some of the ground when we were walking so we had to be careful. Once at the spot, already freezing, Steph then had to sit at the pier in tights, a skirt and a t-shirt. It was hard to film because my hands were so cold that it was difficult to use the camera properly, but because we'd made the effort to go down there, I wanted to make sure we definitely had a wide range of shots to choose from when we got back to college.

Overall I'm glad we went back because I'm really happy with how the shots look. Steph sitting on a pier with the wind blowing through her hair next to the water really adds value to the video, I think.
